How to Transfer Contacts from Hotmail to Gmail

HOTMAIL is one of the most popular email services available, rivaling Google’s Gmail for popularity. How do you transfer contacts between Hotmail and Gmail?

Users have a big decision to make when deciding which email service they want to use: Hotmail, or Gmail.

There are a wealth of options for users to take advantage of, but the two most popular free-to-use services are battling for roughly 1.5 billion users worldwide.

If you have a Microsoft Hotmail account and you are looking to make the switch to Gmail, you can transfer your contacts across to make the transition easier.

If you are looking to make the switch from Hotmail to Google Gmail Account, you will need to transfer all your contacts between the two email services.

To do this, you will first need to log into your account and go to the Contacts section on the left-hand side of the toolbar.

Click Options in the top right and then select Export Contacts.

You will be prompted to open or save the file – click save and store it on your computer where you can easily find it.

A .csv file with all your Hotmail contacts will now be saved on your computer.

Once you have done this, log into your Gmail account and click on the Contacts section on the left side.

Click Import and find the .csv file with all your Hotmail contacts to import.

This will bring all your Hotmail contacts over to your Gmail account so you can start to send and receive messages with the new account.

If you are making the switch back the other way – from Gmail to Hotmail – the process is much the same but in reverse.
