Building Homes, Communities and Hope – 84 Lumber

Posted on Posted in donations, News

Garrett County Habitat for Humanity is thrilled and honored to be a recipient of 84 Lumber’s “Building Hope” campaign and to partner with 84 Lumber in positively impacting our communities. A special thanks to JC Whitehair-Manager of 84 Lumber in Oakland, Kevin DeWitt-sales, and to Maggie Hardy Magerko-President, 84 Lumber Co. for supporting GC Habitat and for donating $8,400 in building materials towards local efforts to eliminate substandard housing for those in need. HFH is a non-profit housing ministry working in partnership with people in need to build simple, decent, affordable housing. Because Habitat seeks to put faith into action, the houses are sold at no profit and with no interest charged. Monthly mortgage payments are placed in a revolving “Fund for Humanity” to finance future houses.

GC Habitat for Humanity challenges people with compassion, of all faith and non-faith, to help realize the vision of eliminating substandard housing and homelessness in our region and the world.
